illumineX Launches V2 Privacy Wallet Powered by the Oasis Privacy Layer

The launch of illumineX V2 represents a significant step forward in secure and privacy-focused applications

illumineX, the application development team that launched the first confidential DEX on Sapphire, today launches V2 of their privacy-preserving, cross-chain wallet powered by the Oasis Privacy Layer (OPL). Oasis is proud to continue supporting this innovative team's work to enhance user privacy and security onchain.

Why illumineX V2 Matters

illumineX V2 is built to fill the lack of compliant, customizable, and easy-to-use privacy applications in crypto. Leveraging the confidential computing technology of the Oasis Network empowers developers like the illumineX team to build applications that give users control over who can see their data.

Under the hood of illumineX V2 is the Oasis Privacy Layer, a framework that allows developers to access the confidentiality of the Oasis Network for their dApps without switching chains. illumineX V2 integrates OPL to ensure that all transaction details, including sender, receiver, amount, and asset details, remain confidential.

From V1 to V2: What’s New

illumineX V1 made waves as the first confidential EVM DEX with MEV-resistant swaps and other key features. With over $1.1 million in liquidity bridged during their initial launch phase, illumineX set a strong precedent for onchain privacy. Now, the illumineX team is building on this foundation with some key changes and enhancements to their product.

Here’s an overview of what is new in illumineX V2.

  • Comprehensive Privacy Wallet: illumineX V2 offers a fully integrated, non-custodial privacy wallet that supports both EVM and non-EVM assets. This wallet provides a secure, private hub for users to manage their assets, swap tokens, and transact without revealing personal details.
  • Cross-Chain Privacy: Expanding on its privacy features, illumineX V2 supports cross-chain transactions, including for Bitcoin, marking it as the first privacy wallet for Bitcoin that doesn’t rely on mixers or CoinJoin technology. This feature ensures that users can transact across multiple blockchains while maintaining complete confidentiality.
  • Account Abstraction and Gas-less Transactions: V2 introduces account abstraction, allowing users to enjoy a more flexible and streamlined experience. Transactions are also gas-less with fees automatically covered in the tokens being used, further simplifying the user experience.
  • Enhanced Security and AML Processes: With improved Anti-Money Laundering (AML) measures, illumineX V2 ensures that malicious wallets are flagged, providing an additional layer of security for all users.

“We’re excited to see the illumineX team continue to navigate uncharted territory in privacy-preserving tools for all crypto users, including those on Bitcoin,” said Will Wendt, Ecosystem Growth Manager at Oasis. “illumineX V2 is a one-of-a-kind application that sets a new standard for customizable onchain confidentiality in our industry.”

The Future of Privacy in Crypto

The launch of illumineX V2 represents a significant step forward in creating more secure and privacy-focused applications in crypto. As users expect digital privacy to be the norm, products like the illumineX wallet are essential in addressing these needs and setting new standards for the industry.

Looking ahead, illumineX plans to expand its reach by supporting more blockchains, including Solana, Tron, and others. The team is also developing an embeddable SDK, which will allow third-party developers to integrate illumineX’s private swaps into their applications, further expanding the ecosystem. Oasis is eager to continue supporting their efforts to push the boundaries of onchain privacy and security.
